Madam Walker, born Sarah Breedlove is known to be the first Black Self Made Millionaire!!!!!!! Producing a Haircare Line for Afro-American Women. In the mid-70's, the then President of L'Oreal Products predidcted that there would be no Black Ownership of Product Companies by the late 80's and boy was he right! :( With Black Hair being a $100Billion, and yes I said $100Billion market, why is it that we only have about 3 COMPANIES that are black owned!:( Yes Mizani is owned by A white company. Clariol was designed for White people first, and then they made a line specifically for us, even Affirm is owned by a Indian Man. What are we doing? Now on the stylist defense, a lot of the Black Haircare Lines are full of sulfates that dry the hair and scalp or are to heavy so I even use products that aren't targeted for Blacks. So the question is; When are we gonna take Ownership? Ownership of the Business and responsibility for making better products so we don't feel like we have to look elsewhere! We are our strongest asset! We are trendsetters! We deserve to build Empires just like everyone else! Let's get busy people! peace:)
