So, you see Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Taraji Henson, even Katie Couric and say,

" Why Doesn't My Hair Do That?"

The answer is...... Everything isn't for everybody!

Hi! My name is Malaika Frazier, I have been considered one of the most influential and sought after hairstylists in the Baltimore Washington Metropolitan area. As the owner of TRUNK & STRAND SALON and partner in a Hair Extensions Company. My trendsetting vision has allowed me to make my mark in the industry, and I have equally been in demand in the world of fashion. I have been blessed to work with a number of renowned photographers and models, shooting national ad campaigns, movies, music videos along with covers for national magazine publications.
Enough about me.... I am here to help you fix those hair woe's and wont's!

So lets begin........

Now back to my previous statement( everything isn't for everyone!) I know, I know, this sounds mean and is a hard pill to swallow but fares to be true. One of the 1st lessons we learn in Cosmetology School is, everyone can't wear every style. Due to facial shape, skin complexion( undertones), from the length of your neck, to the position of your cheekbones, all of these things play apart in what looks good on and fits you. You also have to be realistic about your life style. How much maintenance does your schedule allow? These are key components to picking the best styles to suite you in the pursuit of Savvy, Conservative, or Fashion Forward style. Being a stylist, I'm always looking for the next new look, and what I've found is that building on the trend is how you get it to fit each person. More than likely there are always three trends...... the hot short cut, medium cut, and the long look. Paying attention to this is key because the short may not be for you, but the long look maybe just what the Hair Doctor prescribes. You have to look beyond your favorite entertainer and look at everything around you. We can find inspiration in everything, from the colors of the leaves on trees to the turning of an apple. Hair is Art! And if you treat it as such, you'll always have wonderful results. I am excited to help you on your hair journey, and am sure you'll be pleased!

TTYL,

Malaika : )
